The visionaries behind Casa Negra Collection
Founder & President
Veronica Alcaraz-Saucedo, Founder and President of Casa Negra Collection, is a resilient veteran and accomplished entrepreneur whose journey reflects perseverance and vision. Her career includes service in the U.S. Army Reserves, academic achievements at UCLA and Pepperdine University, and leadership roles across real estate, hospitality, and food manufacturing. Inspired by the desire to harmonize work and home life, Veronica helped create candles that evoke emotion through thoughtfully crafted fragrances. Driven by a deep commitment to business, community, and philanthropy, she continues to grow the brand with purpose—building both impact and a lasting legacy.
Co-Founder & Creative Director
Mayra Sinohui, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Casa Negra Collection, has been immersed in fashion and creativity since childhood. Born in Tijuana, Baja California, and later settling in California's San Fernando Valley, her cross-cultural upbringing deeply informs her artistic and sensory perspective. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies from California State University, Northridge, and brings over two decades of experience in the luxury beauty, fashion, and fragrance industries—shaping and guiding Casa Negra's creative and olfactive direction.
Throughout her career, Mayra has collaborated with a wide range of clients, celebrities, and globally recognized brands, including Chanel, Giorgio Armani, Yves Saint Laurent, Byredo, and Parfums de Marly. During the quarantine period, she began exploring candle-making as a personal creative practice, which ultimately led to the founding of Casa Negra Collection. Her design sensibility is influenced by her family's distinctive approach to fashion, particularly her parents' perspective, and her grandmother's enduring values of determination, gentleness, independence, and compassion—elements that continue to inform the brand's creative vision.
